American Idols Live cancels concerts

The American Idols Live tour has recently felt the same squeeze as Christina Aguilera, Limp Bizkit and the Jonas Brothers–each whom canceled some or all of their tour dates.

According to Pollstar.com, concert ticket sales dropped 17 percent for the top 100 North American tours during the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.

The Final Two On American Idol

It’s that time again, this Tuesday and Wednesday nights mark the season finale for American Idol Season 9!  Facing off for the title this year are Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.

Crystal Bowersox, 24, of Elliston, OH, admits to never having stage fright and believes that separating herself from the competition lies simply with being herself.  For her, “Success ain’t about the money, it’s about doing what you love,” taking a quote from an artist that inspires her, Melissa Etheridge. American Idol, 6 Weeks To Go

This week American Idol contestants rocked the stage with performances featuring the songs of Shania Twain.  Shania herself was there to offer support and mentorship to the final six.

Top performer of the night, Casey Jones had his best performance to date singing his version of “Don’t.”  Lee Dewyze recovered strongly after a little hesitation with his rendition of “You’re Still The One.”  Michael Lynche gave his most confident performance to date with the ballad, “It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing.”

Idol’s Top 8 Contestants Revealed Tonight!

Tonight, Wednesday March 8th, the Top 8 contestants of this year’s American Idol will be decided!  We are getting down the wire, with Lacey Brown eliminated March 17th, Paige Miles eliminated March 24th, and Didi Benami eliminated March 31st.

This week the Top 9 tackle songs we know and love by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.  This theme was also presented to Season 7’s Top 12.  Guest appearances on the show include a performances by Rihanna and Jason Derulo who will be singing “Rockstar 101″ and “In My Head,” respectively.  David Archuleta will also be featured on tonight’s show to talk about his experience singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” during Season 7.

The song list for tonight’s performances include:

Aaron Kelly singing “The Long And Winding Road”
Katie Stevens singing “Let It Be”
Andrew Garcia singing “Can’t Buy Me Love”

American Idol reveals top 12 this week

It’s midway into American Idol’s ninth season, and the ladies are all the rave. This week, the contestants get whittled down to the top 12 and the real competition will begin.

With host Ryan Seacrest, and judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres, the top eight female idols will take the stage today and the top eight males will perform tomorrow. On Thursday, four contestants will be eliminated, leaving only the top 12 contestants.

So who do you think will win the American Idol ticket to the top spot?

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen’s “Idol” hopes come down to six songs

American Idol finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen performed six songs on May 19th’s “American Idol.”

The first song for each finalist was another shot at their favorite persofmance earleir in the season, the second song was selected by Simon Fuller, and the third song, “No Boundaries” was co-written by Kara DioGuardi

Squeaky-Clean Allen, the John Mayer look-alike, decided on the solumn Bill Wither’s “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and uplifting, acoustic version of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On,” and also performed “No Boundaries”

The dramatic, passionate Lambert, on the other hand, went for the morose “Mad World” by Tears for Fears, soulful Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” and “No Boundaries.”

The final five…

ry by saving Matt Giraud from elimination, America was forced to eliminate two contestants during the last show. Both Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were eliminated afthe show’s disco performance.

 

 The remaining contestants are Allison Iraheta (the only woman left), Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey and Matt Giraud.

 

 On Tuesday, the contestants will be singing songs that made the Rat Pack famous. Then, during the results show on Wednesday, Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks will perform his latest single called “Seven Mile Breakdown.”
